Where it shines
Walnut rewards rooms with light to spare. In big, bright spaces the dark boards anchor everything above them, and in the evening the floor turns moody in the best way.
What it pairs with
Warm whites, brass and aged leather bring out the richness; pale rugs and linen keep the depth from closing in. It is the most formal colour in the range.
Keeping it deep
