The same floor, step by step, wrapped by the team that laid it.
A staircase is the floor at its most visible, so we treat every step as its own small job. Each one is wrapped in the same timber as the floors it joins, finished with a stair nosing profile along the edge, and fitted with the specialised labour a staircase asks for.
Each step is priced individually, and the price covers the nosing profile, supplied and installed, together with that specialised labour. The timber itself is priced with the rest of your floor, so a staircase never hides in the quote.

The Oak Plank colour Western on every tread, climbing beneath the skylight.
The most premium flooring combination we offer, and the slim line of metal that finishes it.
The signature style sets a herringbone field inside an oak plank picture frame, and the L Channel Bar draws the line between them. A slim metal channel, sitting flush with the boards, so the join looks deliberate instead of like a seam.
The same bar finishes any edge where our floor meets a different surface, from doorways to step-downs. Run as the signature trim it does its finest work: out in open floor there is no doorway to hide an edge, so every length is measured to the room, mitred at its corners, and inset flush with herringbone meeting one side and oak plank the other.
Gold Champagne is the finish most people choose, and like Silver it sits comfortably with every timber colour we lay. Black and White are the specialist picks: striking with the right floor, and worth holding against your chosen boards first to be sure the two colours work together.
Solid oak underfoot in calm, generous boards. ATS Timber is the floor you live on barefoot.
A specialist pattern that makes the floor the centrepiece. Herringbone is the one to choose.
Cut from an exceptionally high grade of oak, so knots are few and far between. Oak Plank is the cleanest look we offer.
Hard-wearing, water-resistant and easy on the budget. Laminate handles the daily traffic.
The building code counts kitchens, laundries and bathrooms as wet areas, and a timber floor there takes more than a nice finish. We install every range we sell in all three, the compliant way, with the paperwork to prove it.
Any room with a sink, bath or toilet counts as a wet area under clause E3 of the code, kitchens included since 2021. Floors there must be impervious and easily cleaned, and timber is no longer pre-approved for the job.
The code allows what it calls an alternative solution: show the floor meets the requirement and it can be consented. We prepare that documentation for your building consent ourselves.
Every joint is sealed watertight and a waterproof bead runs the full perimeter of the room. Under the boards, our engineered ranges are glued down on a MAPEI moisture barrier. Water stays on the surface until it is wiped up.
Our sealed joints were independently tested in New Zealand against 24 hours of water exposure and showed no penetration. Council has approved floors on this documentation, and the certificates are on hand if you want them.
More of them live in our work.
Every timber floor we install is bonded with MAPEI Ultrabond ECO 995, the gold standard adhesive in our industry, and it is already included in the price on your quote. Here is what it does and why we will not lay on anything less.
ECO 995 is a moisture barrier, a sound reducer and a premium adhesive in a single application: a 100% solids, one component moisture curing urethane that carries a lifetime bond performance warranty from its maker. One product, laid once, doing the work of three.
The adhesive system is part of the number on every timber quote, not an extra. Using the all-in-one system reduces the risk of moisture related issues, minimises noise transfer, and gives the floor a secure, lasting bond: current best practice, priced in from the start.
Where a body corporate asks for more, we add MAPEI’s Mapesonic soundproofing mat: recomposed cork and rubber, laid in the 4mm thickness for the best result. The mat is bonded to the subfloor with Ultrabond S955 1K, ECO 995 goes over the mat, and the boards go over that. Soundproofing is $55/m² excl. GST, with the mat and its adhesive both included in that number.
A new floor is rarely the whole job. More often than not the project needs the painting and plastering trades too, so we offer both. Tell us what the rooms need and we will happily price the work on the same quote as your floor.
Walls skimmed, ceilings repainted, skirtings finished once the boards are down: each service lands as its own line on your quote, priced up front and carried by the same team that lays your floor.
Plaster wants to be dry before the paint goes on, and the paint wants to be done before a new floor goes down. When one team books the sequence, the trades never trip over each other, and the finish shows it.
Engineered timber, like our ATS Timber, Herringbone and Oak Plank ranges, bonds a solid oak wear layer to a stable core, so it is real wood underfoot. Laminate carries a wood-grain surface over a dense HDF core, which makes it the most affordable and one of the hardest wearing floors we offer.
We used to. New Zealand summers taught us better: enough direct sun and the composite core starts to warp, and unlike engineered timber it can never be sanded back. Our laminate surpasses the average SPC in every metric that counts, and we supply & install it for less than SPC typically costs elsewhere.
An engineered board carries its solid oak where you see and feel it, over a stable core, so each tree goes much further. That is kinder on forests, and because more flooring comes from the same oak, the price comes down too. You give up nothing underfoot, and the board holds its shape through New Zealand seasons better than solid timber does.
We prefer the honest phrase “water-resistant”: timber is a natural material, and anywhere claiming waterproof is not being upfront with you. Our timbers fall under the Alternative Solution pathway of the New Zealand Building Code’s E3 clause and are approved for wet areas such as kitchens, laundries and bathrooms. They still need looking after; our floor care guides and each range’s warranty spell out what that means.
Yes. Every flooring price on this page covers both supply and install, which few flooring companies offer as one number. In Auckland we hold the lowest supply & install prices on every timber range we offer. Prices are shown excluding GST, which is added as its own line on your quote, and a full quote can also add delivery and finishing trims, such as L Channel Bars where our floor meets a different surface.
In our work it is the L Channel Bar, a slim metal transition strip that sits flush where one floor ends and another begins. It comes in Silver, Gold Champagne, Black and White, and it is the same bar that draws the line between herringbone and oak plank in our signature style.
Three parts, laid by one team: an Oak Plank picture frame running the room’s edge, the L Channel Bar drawing a clean metal line inside it, and a herringbone field filling the centre. You can see the combination in full in the signature style gallery on our homepage.
Tell us about your space and we will come to your home, measure it, and build a digital floorplan so you can preview your new floor in your own rooms. Then we come back with a firm quote. It is free, and there is no obligation to go ahead.
ATS Timber is the one we point busy households to. Its eight coats of brushed lacquer make the surface hardy and scratch resistant, and the solid oak wear layer keeps its looks under claws, toys and traffic. Our floor care guides cover the few habits that keep any range looking new.
We primarily operate across Auckland, Northland and Hamilton, and we have approved installers throughout the rest of New Zealand. Wherever you are, talk to us about your project.
